Me, my wife and 3 of my children. I also take care of 2 orphans
What motivated you to start bee keeping?
I have been a bee keeper since childhood. Then I moved on to using bamboo material. It was doing well. Then gradually we got to know about the box type. That was when I realized there is a good thing in bee keeping. So I got motivated to engage seriously in bee farming
How do you provide a good environment for your bees?
You have to protect the trees where you keep the beehives. Now we have also been taught that you can build house for bees, give them food and water. We now do some of these things for our bees, especially during dry season.
What do trees mean to you and how can they be protected?
Trees are very important to us as bee keepers. Without trees you cannot keep bees. So, you protect trees by ensuring that they are not cut and burnt to make charcoal. It is common in our place these days
What is the most important thing in your life?
I always stand on the truth. To do the right thing is always good.
What are your biggest challenges and how do you plan to overcome them?
My biggest challenge is poverty. I wanted to educate my children highly. So, my plan to overcome this is to scale up my bee keeping enterprise to increase production and income.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Hmm… as a peasant, there is no free time for me. I always make sure that I utilize every available time to look for some money.
