Who belongs to your family / who is living with you?
I am married and we are having 5 kids and one relative staying with us. So, we are 8 in our family.
How has beekeeping changed your life?
I have started beekeeping about 18 years ago. I never got training but used the local knowledge and skills. I have 32beehives, thereof 26 traditional beehives and 6 modern ones. I am able to get some money to pay school fees for the kids and also buy them basic needs like sugar, food, clothes and shoes
How do you provide a good environment for your bees?
I make sure, I maintain a clean apiary. Also, I am providing my bees with foraging plants like planted eucalyptus trees.
What do trees mean to you and how can they be protected?
Trees provide us with the shade. They protect us from strong winds and strong erosion. The soil is protected as well by trees, and they increase fertility in the soil. Finally, the give bees nectar and pollen as their food.
What is the most important thing in your life?
Having a good house is most important to me.
What are your biggest challenges and how do you plan to overcome them?
I currently have no protective wear, but I hope to buy from Bee House company once I have the capital. The distance to reach the market to sell the bee products is far. It requires a motorcycle to transport the products so I always need hire one to do that. I am lacking buckets for proper storage.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I am enjoying staying with friends and drinking some beer in my free time.
Which place would you like to see once?
I would love to travel to France if I get the chance.
